MUSIC MANTRA MONDAY: A Tribute to Robin Gibb
This is going to be a short-but-sweet post this week.
You all know what a huge Beatles fan I am. I always will be. But I also grew up with so many other different kinds of music. I was so blessed to have a mother, despite her struggles, who exposed me to the beauty that was music.
The Bee Gees fascinated me. They were able to reach almost every genre of music out there and they never once changed their style, what they believed in or what others thought was 'in'. They were who they were. And we loved them for it.
God rest your soul, Robin. I hope with all of my heart that you find peace, love, rest and happiness where you are as you had here on earth. You no longer have to worry about sickness, pain or treatment. You can just look down and enjoy all that you left for us.
Say 'Hi!' to Maurice and Andy for us. Our thoughts and prayers are with Barry and the rest of the family.

I am STILL a great fan of the Bee Gees and will always rank them as real scene changers - Staying Alive totally captures a moment in time for me. RIP.
I totally agree with you. 'Staying Alive' is such an amazing song charged with energy.
Even though Robin had been sick for a long time, I'm so sad for his family. I just hope he's pain-free and happy now.
